Geoff Davis touched up

Heads & Tales
Nigel Price Organ Trio + Alex Garnett + Snowboy.

The new double cd, released on Woodville records on October 17th 2011 sees Nigel’s award winning trio teaming up with Alex Garnett - one of the UK’s finest saxophonists - and the legendary Snowboy on percussion.
Nigel has composed an album’s worth of original compositions but all based on evergreen standard forms which help to give the material instant accessibility and familiarity.
A “head” in jazz terminology refers to the opening and closing melodic statement of a piece. These “heads” are often melodies written over an existing standard form - hence the naming of the first disc.
The second disc contains the same material performed as unamplified jazz guitar duets but with the original melodies reinstated, and the feels changed.
Tales seemed like an appropriate title!

Heads & Tales was voted 5th best in the world 2011 in Mojo magazine, being described as “brilliant” and “exhilarating”.

The cd is available to buy through
this website or also through itunes, Amazon and Woodville,

The trio - comprised of Nigel on guitar, Matt home on drums and Pete Whittaker on Hammond organ are regularly touring the UK so do come and see us! - check the Live Dates page to find out where.
